Happy Spring, softball fam! I have some very exciting news to share in this month’s newsletter…
A Home Run for Spring Registrations!
We’re thrilled to announce a 56% increase in player registrations for our Spring recreational season, especially among girls ages 4-10! For the first time, we’re able to form two 6U teams, two 8U teams, and two 10U teams due to this fantastic growth. It’s an exciting time for our young athletes and the future looks bright!
Introducing Inter-League Play
This year marks the beginning of our inter-league play, a fantastic opportunity for our players to face new competition, enjoy better experiences, and showcase Pawtucket as the true Softball City. Get ready for more games, more cheers, and more unforgettable moments on the field!
Concession Stand Makeover
Our concession stand has undergone a complete transformation! From a new grill to a state-of-the-art POS system that supports touchless payments, we’ve modernized your snack bar experience. Enjoy quicker, easier, and safer transactions while grabbing your game-day favorites.
Fresh Looks & Fun Team Names
We’re stepping up our game with new, moisture-wicking jerseys and leaving behind the old cotton. Plus, we’re introducing exciting, new team names based on each age division, moving away from sponsor-business names. It’s all about making the game more fun and engaging for our players!
A Huge Thank You
None of these advancements would’ve been possible without the generous support of our sponsors and the tireless dedication of our board members: Joe Godin, Paul Feley, and Chantelle Feley. Their commitment kept our league’s spirit alive during challenging times.
We Need You!
Running a league as dynamic as the DGSL requires a community effort. We’re looking for volunteers to join our board, coach our players, and help out at the concession stand. Don’t worry about the commitment; we’ve streamlined the on-boarding process, and we’re providing comprehensive training sessions for coaches and concession stand volunteers.
Join Us and Make a Difference
As we celebrate our 45th anniversary and look ahead to our 50th, we’re determined to grow our league into something truly special. Be a part of this exciting journey. Let’s show everyone that Pawtucket is Softball City!
Stay Engaged
Your involvement makes a difference. Attend our monthly board meetings to be a part of the decision-making process that shapes our league’s future. Together, we can achieve remarkable things.
Here’s to a fantastic season ahead,
Seth Comire, Secretary & Public Relations Director
